Heart of the Gallery Exhibition

Past Show

Exhibition February 12 - March 7

When the Arts Center closed at the end of 2025 for improvements, disaster struck in the form of gushing water from the floor above, destroying the ceiling, floor and areas of wall. The tasks to repair and renovate were overwhelming and much more complicated than we expected, so we sent out a request to our volunteer list for help. The challenge was finding handy and experienced volunteers to assist in helping build out walls, install cabinets, assemble shelving, and install slat walls in our member gallery. Gratefully a talented pool of members stepped up as did many other members who cleaned, cleared, organized, painted and decorated. We are also grateful to our new landlord, Vince Lobdell, for his generous heart and taking pride in our gallery and funding a beautiful new ceiling and floor where the water leaks left irreparable damage. We will be forever grateful to all who responded and made the Arts Center into the welcoming space we enjoy today.

To honor our intrepid volunteers and celebrate our new galleries, on Valentine's weekend we re-opened with a show that celebrated their remodeling achievements as well as their artistic talents. We called the show Heart of the Gallery because they are the heart of our gallery.

the names of the volunteers who helped to remodel the gallery after it was flooded. The names are in the shape of a heart.
