Our Shows

Like everyone in the country, we are finding new, creative ways to carry on and remain relevant during our ongoing pandemic. We are putting some of our shows in online galleries and are tentatively rescheduling remaining shows in our gallery in the hope that we will fairly soon return to normal.

Below you will find our current list of shows, their status as virtual or actual, and their dates and submission guidelines. Please check back for updates, which will be posted as soon as we know them.

Due to coronavirus guidelines, and in the interest of keeping all of us healthy, our gallery remains closed. As soon as we can reopen, we will announce when you can pick up the artwork you purchased in our 6 x 6 Community Show. COVID-19 Photo Essay Virtual Show

We are inviting the community to document in photography how our worldwide pandemic has impacted our community. What story can you convey in a single still image about this time in your life? What emotion can you evoke? Tell us with your digital image. Anyone can participate. Accepted photos will be featured on our website. Here are the details you will need for this Photo Essay Community Challenge.

Student Art Show & Competition Virtual Show

We have rescheduled the Oswego County Student Art Show and Competition for May 3 through May 28, and it will now be held online as a Virtual Art Exhibit on the Salmon River Fine Arts Center website. All entries will be submitted digitally and must be received by April 24, 2020.

Works will be judged on originality, technical skill and personal style, and the winners will be awarded cash prizes. Grades 7, 8 and 9: First place $100. Second place $50. Third Place $25. Honorable Mention certificates. Grades 10, 11 and 12: First Place $100. Second Place $50. Third Place $25. Honorable Mention certificates.

Each year the Salmon River Fine Arts Center offers non-professional artists an opportunity to enter artworks in our Sunday Artists Show and Competition, held at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center. This is a great opportunity to present work for competition and display in our gallery. If you are a non-professional artist, you are invited to submit works for this show, which will be displayed May 31 - June 27. The dates to submit artwork are Thursday May 21 - Saturday, May 23, regular gallery hours. Please read the Sunday Artists Show Entry Guidelines for detailed information on eligibility and artwork guidelines, submission procedure and form, and judging and awards.

In July and August we are featuring our Members Show, a collection of fine artwork created by our very talented Fine Arts Center Members. We will hold an opening reception for the show on Sunday, July 12, 1 - 3 pm, and the exhibition will be from July 12 to August 22. If you are a member, please consider showing your work in this event. The dates to submit artwork are Wednesday - Friday, July 1 - 3, regular gallery hours. Please read the Members Shows Entry Info and download, fill out, and attach an entry form for each piece of submitted artwork.

You are invited to participate in “Hooked on the Salmon River,” a themed exhibition that celebrates fishing and the beauty of the Salmon River. The exhibit was developed to feature work from the region’s fine artists inspired by this beautiful and swift-flowing river that runs through the small historic village of Pulaski, drawing fishermen, nature enthusiasts, and tourists from all over the globe. All styles and genres of fine art and fine craft will be accepted from both emerging and established artists 18 and older. Artwork must have been completed in the last two years and will be selected by talented local artist Lawrence C. Barone. The exhibit will be on display from August 28 through October 14 at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center. From August 28 to October 14 we are featuring our Hooked on Salmon River Show, a collection of fine art created to showcase the Salmon River and fishing in our area. This exhibit can be seen during regular gallery hours: Wednesday - Friday, noon - 4 pm, and Saturday, 10 am - 2 pm.
